Well Ravens fans, I thought I was in the middle of a bad dream but I’m wide awake and all of the sudden we don’t have a left tackle! So let’s backtrack a little. It was no secret to anyone who knows anything about the team that J.O. was most likely going to hang them up this year. So the brain trust at headquarters went out and signed a solid veteran left tackle for this season to protect the young stable of quarterbacks right??? Wait-they didn’t? Well then there must be someone that Ogden was grooming to inherit the throne one day right? They didn’t do that either? Hmmmm-something doesn’t seem right here. Someone fell asleep at the wheel.
The Ravens took Jared Gaither in last years supplemental draft and he automatically became the heir apparent. He’s played well in limited action but you can’t expect him to fill the shoes of one of the greatest ever. Gaither went down earlier this week so underachieving Adam Terry was thrust into action. Terry is not the solution but was a serviceable stand in. News out of camp today is that Terry went down screaming in pain after rolling over Ray Rice. After coming off of a leg injury, you have to question whether he was ready to return to action. The answer is apparently a big fat NO.
After 11 years of being absolutely spoiled by a Hall of Famer, we are now left with Mike Kracalik. Yes I said Mike Kracalik (pronounced KRAH-cha-lick if you were wondering).
vs.

Nothing against the guy but the Dwight Freeney’s of the world have to be licking their chops. Where does this team go now?? You have to hope Gaither returns soon and even if he does, this issue needs to be addressed now! Maybe we dangle Suggs out there for someone?? Only time will tell (it just better tell fast). With the way things look now, three wins is looking like a very realistic possibility.
