Ravens News and Notes-Boller Ailing/Douglas Returns

The team didn’t waste time replacing the injured Dwan Edwards.  Earlier today they brought back defensive end Marques Douglas in a trade with Tampa Bay.  The Bucs will receive a late round pick next year and a conditional pick in 2010.  Baltimore will also pick up the four year $10.1 million contract he signed with Tampa.

In other news it appears that the quarterback battle may be down to two.  Numerous sites are reporting that Kyle Boller had an MRI on his shoulder and the results could be potentially season ending.  Ozzie Newsome wouldn’t confirm anything until Friday morning.  If this is the case, the team will have to start the search for another QB.  As of right now I see a few names standing out including expected to be cut John Beck in Miami (drafted by Cameron), former Terp Shaun Hill and little known Casey Bramlet (another Cameron deciple).  Chris Simms survived the first round of cuts in Tampa but it’s obvious that the Ravens have the Bucs number.  Daunte Culpepper is sitting at home but that is one train wreck I think the team will avoid.
