Ravens News and Notes – Cody Released

The end of a long painful road came to an end yesterday when the team cut linebacker Dan Cody.  The move was made to open a roster spot for Marques Douglas who the Ravens acquired in a trade with Tampa.  I have to say that this was a day I was hoping didn’t come.  There are some players who you just pull for to make it because of their work ethic and determination-he is one of those guys.  Cody was drafted in the second round of the 2005 draft out of Oklahoma.  The bad signs of his short career in Baltimore started the first day of practice in his rookie year when he sprained theanterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.  It didn’t get any better from there.  2006 brought with it a torn posterior cruciate ligament followed by another knee injury and broken foot in 2007.  Here’s hoping he pulls it all together and latches on with another team this season.
